China and the UAE Hold the Second Meeting of the China-UAE Consultation Mechanism on Counterterrorism and Deradicalization Cooperation
On October 29, 2024, Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong, at the invitation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), went to Abu Dhabi to co-chair the second meeting of the bilateral consultation mechanism on counterterrorism and deradicalization cooperation with Chairman of the International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism (Hedayah) of the UAE Ali Al Nuaimi. Representatives from relevant departments of the two countries attended the meeting.
The two sides spoke highly of the sound development momentum of the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership, had an in-depth exchange of views on the international and regional counterterrorism situation and counterterrorism and deradicalization cooperation. The two sides agreed to make good use of the bilateral consultation mechanism on counterterrorism and deradicalization cooperation and jointly implement the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state on counterterrorism and security cooperation, so as to make greater contributions to safeguarding the security and development interests of the two countries and regional security and stability.
